What do the abbreviations M, J, GM, GJ and Z stand for on the UMS 5?

M = Motor control – standard operating mode for roller blinds, gate drives, roof windows, etc.
J = Venetian blind control: In this mode, the slats of the Venetian blind can be adjusted by briefly actuating the OPEN/CLOSE button (for less than 1 second). The selected direction of movement is only locked by the relay when the button is pressed longer.
A counteracting pulse which can be activated additionally automatically restores the slats to a horizontal position when the drive has come to a halt. GM = Group device for motor control: If the UMS 5 is used as a group or central control unit, the set runtime can be overridden in this mode by permanent activation of the electronic extension units.
Persistent activation of this device (e.g. by a wind monitor) can consequently disable the complete system if necessary. Otherwise the same as mode M. GJ = Group unit for Venetian blind control: If the UMS 5 is used as a group or central control unit, the set runtime can be overridden in this mode by permanent activation of the electronic extension units.
Persistent activation of this device (e.g. by a wind monitor) can consequently disable the complete system if necessary. Otherwise the same as mode J. Z = Central momentary activation of the electronic extension units: In smaller systems, this mode permits simple central control without an upstream central control unit.
The electronic extension units can be activated directly via push-buttons, just like the local inputs, but have priority over these.
